And the work continues...

A nice reminder that we are in the midst of a pandemic. 😄

Our last American missionary to return home: Elder Nielsen from
Soda Springs, ID. So close to our home!

Elder Turcios, who is doing overtime in the mission- along with Elder Calderon. Both have completed their mission but are unable to return to El Salvador at this time:

Our office staff! They are doing a great job of keeping us going! Elder Mateo, Élder Turcios, who is also serving as an AP, Elder Sanchez and Élder Aguirre, also doubling as an AP:

Our latest missionaries to leave. Hermana Calix and Élder Benetiz, both from Honduras, both muy bien missionaries, having their temperatures checked before boarding the plane:

Elder Munive and Mavil, the awesome missionaries serving at this time in Benito Juárez:

The Exodus

The week of March 20th through the 27th was a whirlwind of farewells. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and The Church’s announcement that all missionaries would be returned to their native country, the missionary force in the Ciudad Juárez Mission dropped from roughly 130 missionaries to about 65 in a matter of days. There were a lot of late nights and early mornings as the logistics were worked out.  It was hard to say goodbye!!

The first four missionaries to leave, Elders Uchytl, Garrick, Stewart, y Walker:

The mission was able to receive two new missionaries during this crazy time!  On the 24th Elders Canaan y Mavil joined the mission:

Hermana Ahlborn, Elders Adleman y Adling, Hermana Martin catch
an early flight from El Paso:

Hermanas Alvarado y Reyes, two hermanas from Guatemala that were part of the
Juarez mission for just three days:

A busy, busy office this week!

Elder Jensen and his luggage- it was right on 50lbs. The limit. The airline workers gave him his own set of ‘wings’😄:

Elder Mich and his trainer Elder Castillow. Both awesome missionaries. Both leaving!

Hermanas Alvarado, Medley, Gonzalez y Perez. Smiling through difficult times:

So many missionaries to say goodbye to!!

Elder Aguirre, our Executive Secretary. A HUGE HELP everyday!

Farewell to Hermana Rodriguez:

Elder Adcock and Elder Turcios talk with Elder Mahoney, below.  Elder Adcock and Elder Turcios are the APs in the mission and have served valiantly and been a huge help with the changes that were taking place on a daily basis. They continue to be an example in all ways- even missionary work. They taught a lesson to an investigator from the office computer Friday night, before Elder Adcock left on Saturday morning. As the rest of us in the office were as quiet as could be. It was a beautiful reminder that this is the Lords work, and it will go on!

Mission Life is fun!

We said a second final goodbye to these elders. Élder Turcios y Élder Calderon de El Salvador. They served for 27+ months before we were FIN...
