New missionaries, new branch presidents...even a new fan! 😄

It sounds like last week was another busy week in the Mexico Ciudad Juarez Mission!
It started out with a wonderful Temple Preparation class taught in the Villa Ahumada branch by Elders Diaz and Carpenter.

Then the mission got 14 new missionaries!! Here they are with their awesome trainers:

All the new hermanas with their trainers and two of the office secretaries, Elder Munive and Elder Napeirski.

Elder Roblero just arrived in the mission and brought with him this beautiful shawl that he made for Hermana Henke. She loves it and will definitely put it to good use...Presidente Henke likes to keep the mission office COOL!

Office elders double as office photographers! :)

Transfer day! Maybe we shouldn't let Presidente Henke (or their parents!) see this! :)

The mission has three branches where missionaries serve as the branch presidents, and two of those branches received new branch presidents in the last couple of weeks.
Elder Espinosa, the new branch president in Benito Juarez, his companion Elder Huesser, and Presidente Henke. They are standing in front of the church building in Villa Ahumada, where they were joining other elders for comida:

The mission also received a few new fans and a portable air conditioning unit this week because it is HOT! Yay!! How many elders does it take to assemble a fan?! :)

A few pictures

A couple of days last week were spent interviewing missionaries. Hermana Henke emailed me before their first interviews to let me know that she was going to use a notebook we gave her as her missionary interview notebook so that she could make notes and remember the things she talked to each missionary about. 😄 They seemed quite excited for the chance to get to know their missionaries better!

On Sunday, they went to church in Ascension, and then the Reyes Family fed Presidente y Hermana Henke, plus SIX elders, dinner that night! They enjoyed the time with the Reyes family.

The First Week

The first week seemed super busy! When I talked to Presidente y Hermana Henke a few days after they got to Mexico, it sounded like they had hardly had time to sit down! 😄 They sounded very happy. After meeting each zone at the end of last week, they went with the missionaries from some the smaller branches and met a few people that the missionaries were teaching, which was really special. They were able to attend a couple of baptismal services in their first few days in Juarez.
Here are a few pictures from the last week:

Sister Call, the wife of the stake president in Colonial Juarez, gave them a quick history tour of a few sights in the colonies.

Meeting the Missionaries!

Last Friday and Saturday, June 28th and 29th, Presidente y Hermana Henke met with each of the seven zones in the mission to introduce themselves to all of the missionaries.  It looks like a good group of missionaries!
