Presidente y Hermana Henke had quite the experience at the MTC in Provo, UT, where they spent four days at the Mission Leadership Seminar. The Spirit was powerful, the church leaders were so personal and loving to the mission presidents and their wives, and they received a lot of great teachings and ideas to implement in the Mexico Ciudad Juarez Mission. One of the highlights was getting to shake the hands of President Nelson, President Oaks, and President Eyring on Sunday. When Presidente Henke got to President Eyring, he said “You are the one who called us [to be mission president].” President Eyring pulled him into a hug and said, “I love you, brother!”
They also really enjoyed President Nelson’s talk during sacrament meeting in which he gave 5 hopes that he has for the mission presidents and their spouses. They came home for one day to pack their bags and get ready to leave for Mexico, and I felt like they were bursting with this love from Heavenly Father and the Savior that they felt through the First Presidency and the members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. They were so excited to get to their mission, meet the missionaries, and share that same love with them and the people in their mission.
